M A I N T E N A N C E AND REHABILITATION OF PHYSICAL FACILITIES

For expenses necessary for the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of roads (including furnishing special road maintenance service to trucking permittees on a reimbursable basis), trails, buildings, utilities, and other physical facilities essential to the operation of areas administered pursuant to law by the National P a r k Service, $21,666,750, including not to exceed $187,500 for travel and transportation of persons. CONSTRUCTION

For construction and improvement, without regard to the Act of August 24, 1912, as amended (16 U.S.C. 451), of buildings, utilities, 37 Stat. 46o; and other physical facilities; the repair or replacement of roads, trails, ^"^ ^**" ^^" buildings, utilities, or other facilities or equipment damaged or destroyed by fire, flood, or storm, or the construction of projects deferred by reason of the use of funds for such purposes; the acquisition of water rights; and not to exceed $5,300,000 for the acquisition of lands, interest therein, improvements, and related personal property; $32,697,000, including not to exceed $350,000 for travel and transportation of persons, to remain available until expended: Provided, That no part of this appropriation shall be used for the condemnation of any land for Grand Teton National Park in the State of Wyoming. ( L I Q U I D A T I O N OF CONTRACT AUTHORIZATION)

For liquidation of obligations incurred pursuant to authority contained in title 23, United States Code, section 203, $29,000,000, includ- 72 Stat. 90e. ing not to exceed $500,000 for travel and transportation of persons, to remain available until expended: Provided, That none of the funds herein provided shall be expended for planning or construction on the following: Fort Washington and Greenbelt Park, Maryland, except minor roads and trails; Great Falls Park, Virginia; Daingerfield Island Marina, Virginia; and extension of the George Washington Memorial Parkway from vicinity of Brickyard Road to Great Falls, Maryland, or in Prince Georges County, Maryland. GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE E X P E N S E S

For expenses necessary for general administration of the National Park Service, including such expenses in the regional offices, $2,136,750, including not to exceed $103,000 for travel and transportation 01 persons. ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS

Appropriations for the National P a r k Service shall be available for the purchase of not to exceed one hundred and twenty passenger motor vehicles of which one hundred and fourteen shall be for replacement only, including not to exceed sixty-two for police-type use which may exceed by $300 each the general purchase price limitation for the current fiscal year; and purchase of not to exceed one aircraft. BUREAU OF OUTDOOR RECREATION SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For necessary expenses of the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, $1,900,000.
