For education of congressional pages and pages of the Supreme Court, pursuant to section 243 of the Legislative Reorganization Act, ^^^^'. $<95925, which amount shall be advanced and credited to the applicable appropriation of the District of Columbia, and the Board of Education of the District of Columbia is hereby authorized to employ such personnel for the education of pages as may be required and to pay compensation for such services in accordance with such rates of compensation as the Board of Education may prescribe. For the Architect of the Capitol, Assistant Architect of the Capitol, and Second Assistant Architect of the Capitol, at salary rates of $20,700, $19,000, and $17,500 per annum, respectively^ and other personal services at rates of pay provided by law, $507,800: Provided, That wherevcr H.R. 11049, 88th Congress, as enacted into law establishes a specific rate of compensation for any position different from the rate specifically enumerated in this Act for such position, the rate in said H.R. 11049 shall prevail. Appropriations under the control of the Architect of the Capitol shall be available for expenses of travel on official business not to exceed in the aggregate under all funds the sum of $20,000. EXPENSES

To enable the Architect of the Capitol to make surveys and studies and to meet unforeseen expenses in connection with activities under his care, $50,000.
