insurance (including a lump-sum payment equal to the difference between the total of the installments which would have been paid had such insurance in the amount of $5,000 been in force at the time of death, and the total of the installments actually paid, between the date of death and the date of enactment of this Act) in accordance with the National Service Life Insurance Act of 1940, as amended, except that any payments made as a result of the enactment of this Act shall be made directly from the national service life insurance appropriation. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the U'^^^^d States of Amtrica in Congress assembled, That each individual named in section 2 of this Act is relieved of liability to pay to the United States the amount set forth opposite his name, which amount represents an overpayment of per diem received by him while stationed at Fleet Air Western Pacific repair activity, Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. I n the audit and settlement of the accounts of any certifying or disbursing officer of the United States, credit shall be given for amounts for which liability is relieved by this Act. SEC. 2.
