"(4) meets such staffing requirements as the Secretary finds necessary for the institution to carry out an active program of treatment for individuals who are furnished services in the institution; and " (5) is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. I n the case of an institution which satisfies paragraphs (1) and (2) of the preceding sentence and which contains a distinct part which also satisfies paragraphs (3) and (4) of such sentence, such distinct part shall be considered to be a 'psychiatric hospital' if the institution is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals or if such distinct part meets requirements equivalent to such accreditation requirements as determined by the Secretary. "Tuberculosis Hospital " (g) The term 'tuberculosis hospital' means an institution which— " (1) is primarily engaged in providing, by or under the supervision of a physician, medical services for the diagnosis and treatment of tuoerculosis; "(2) satisfies the requirements of paragraphs (3) through (8) of.subsection (e); "(3) maintains clinical records on all patients and maintains such records as the Secretary finds to be necessary to determine the degree and intensity of the treatment provided to individuals covered by the insurance program established by part A; "(4) meets such staffing requirements as the Secretary finds necessary for the institution to carry out an active program of treatment for individuals who are furnished services in the institution; and " (5) is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. I n the case of an institution which satisfies paragraphs (1) and (2) of the preceding sentence and which contains a distinct part which also satisfies paragraphs (3) and (4) of such sentence, such distinct part shall be considered to be a, 'tuberculosis hospital' if the institution is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals or if such distinct part meets requirements equivalent to such accreditation requirements as determined by the Secretary. "Extended Care Services " (h) The term 'extended care services' means the following items and services furnished to an inpatient of an extended care facility and (except as provided in paragraphs (3) and (6)) by such extended care facility— "(1) nursing care provided by or under the supervision of a registered professional nurse; "(2) bed and board in connection with the furnishing of such nursing care; "(3) physical, occupational, or speech therapy furnished by the extended care facility or by others under arrangements with them made by the f acility^; "(4) medical social services; "(5) such drugs, biologicals, supplies, appliances, and equipment, furnished tor use in the extended care facility, as are ordinariljj/^ furnished by such facility for the care and treatment of inpatients;
