Private Law 89-262 AN ACT For the relief of Joseph K. Bellek.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Joseph K. Bellek, of Roselle Park, New Jersey, the sum of $300 in full settlement of his claims against the United States for reimbursement of that amount paid by him in satisfaction of a judgment entered against him on March 12, 1959, in the Union County District Court, Union County, New Jersey, as the result of a motor vehicle collision of January 28, 1958, between a privately owned vehicle of the Mel Anne Corporation and a post office truck operated by him within the scope of his employment with the Post Office Department. No part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Private Law 89-263 AN ACT For the relief of Arthur Hill.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That Arthur Hill of Hayward, California, is hereby relieved of liability to the United States in the amount of $2,854.70, the amount of an overpayment of his salary as an employee of the Post Office Department for the period December 9, 1961 to January 1, 1965, because of an administrative error. In the audit and settlement of the accounts of any certifying or disbursing officer of the United States, credit shall be given for any amount for which liability is relieved by this Act. SEC. 2. The Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed to pay, out or any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to said Arthur Hill, an amount equal to the aggregate of the amounts paid by him, or withheld from sums otherwise due him, in complete or partial satisfaction of the liability to the United States specified in the first section. No part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
