THE UNIFORM
SEC. 8. Title 10, United States Code, is amended as follows: (1) Chapter 45 is amended — (A) by inserting the following new section after section 7 7 1:

" (a) E x c e p t as provided i n subsections (b) and (c), w h e n a n enlisted m e m b e r of a n a r m e d force is discharged, the exterior articles of uniform i n h i s possession that w e r e issued to h i m, other than those t h a the may w e a r from the place of d i s c h a r g e to his h o m e under section 7 7 2 (d) of t h i s title, shall be r e t a i n e d for m i l i t a r y use.
