NOW, THEREFORE, I, LYNDON B. JOHNSON, President of the United States of America, acting; under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the statutes, inchiding- but not limited to Sections 201, 202, 2ia, and 254 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, do procLaim that: (1) Subject to the applicable provisions of the General Agreement, the Geneva (1967) Protocol, and other agreements supplemental to the General Agreement, the modification or continuance of existing duties or other import restrictions and the continuance of existing duty-free or excise treatment, provided for in Schedule X X (Geneva—1967), shall be effective on and after January 1, 1968, as provided for therein; and (2) To this end and to give effect to related parts of other agreements, the Tariff Schedules of the United States are modified, effective on and after January 1, 1968, as provided for in Annexes II and III to this proclamation.
