INCREASE IN GNMA PURCHASE AUTHORITY

SEC. 114. Section 302(b) of the National Housing Act is amended— (1) by striking out "exceeds or exceeded $17,500" in clause (3) of the proviso in the first sentence and inserting in lieu thereof "exceeds or exceeded $22,000"; (2) by striking out "that exceeds $17,500" in the second sentence and inserting in lieu thereof "that exceeds the otherwise applicable maximum amount"; and (3) by striking out "did not exceed $17,500" in the second sentence and inserting in lieu thereof "did not exceed the otherwise applicable maximum amount".

GNMA SPECIAL ASSISTANCE PURCHASES

SEC. 115. Section 305 of the National Housing Act is amended by 68 Stat. eie; adding at the end thereof the following new subsection: 12'use m o. " (j) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the Association is authorized to purchase pursuant to commitments or otherwise mortgages otherwise eligible for purchase under this section at a price equal to the unpaid principal amount thereof at the time of purchase, with adjustments for interest and any comparable items, and to sell such mortgages at any time at a price within the range of market prices for the particular class of mortgages involved at the time of sale as determined by the Association. SEC. 201.
