(b)(1) Title 111 shall take elfect on the date of the enactment of this Act. In the administration of section;^()8(b) of title III during the period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act and ending on the elective date specified in subsection (a), the reference to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia shall be considered a reference to the District of Columbia Court of (General Sessions. (2) Titles lA^ Yl, VII, and ^'III shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act. (3) The amendments made by sections 201 and 20.5 of this Act shall apply with respect to any person who commits an oifense after the effective date of this Act. Approved July 29, 1970. AN ACT To provide for the designation of special policemen at the Government Printing Office, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United /States of America in Congress assembled, That chapter 3 of title 44, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end thereof the following new section: "§ 317. Special policemen "The Public Printer or his delegate may designate employees of the Government Printing Ofl&ce to serve as special policemen to protect l>ersons and property in premises and adjacent areas occupied by or under the control of the Government Printing Office. Under regulations to be prescribed by the Public Printer, employees designated as special l^olicemen are authorized to bear and use arms in the performance of their duties; make arrest for violations of laws of the United States, the several States, and the District of Columbia; and enforce the regulations of the Public Printer, including the removal from Government Printing Office premises of individuals who violate such regulations. The jurisdiction of special policemen in premises occupied by or under the control of the Government Printing Office and adjacent areas shall be concurrent with the jurisdiction of the respective law enforcement agencies wfhere the premises are located." AN ACT To amend section 14(b) of the Federal Reserve Act, as amended, to extend for one year the authority of Federal Reserve banks to purchase United States obligations directly from the Treasury. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 14(b) of the Federal Reserve Act, as amended (12 U.S.C. 355), is amended by striking out "July 1, 1970" and inserting in lieu thereof "July 1, 1971" and by striking out "June 30, 1970" and inserting in lieu thereof "June 30, 1971".
