OFFICE OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS POLICY

1. Transfer of functions. The functions relating to assigning frequencies to radio stations belonging to and operated by the United States, or to classes thereof, conferred upon the President by the provisions of section 305(a) of the Communications Act of 1934, 47 U.S.C. 305 (a), are hereby transferred to the Director of the Office of Telecommunications Policy hereinafter provided for. SEC. 2. Establishment of Office. There is hereby established in the Executive Office of the President the Office of Telecommunications Policy, hereinafter referred to as the Office. SEC. 3. Director and deputy, (a) There shall be at the head of the Office the Director of the Office of Telecommunications Policy, hereinafter referred to as the Director. The Director shall be appointed by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and shall be compensated at the rate now or hereafter provided for Level III of the Executive Schedule P a y Eates (5 U.S.C. 5314). (b) There shall be in the Office a Deputy Director of the Office of Telecommunications Policy who shall be appointed by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and shall be compensated at the rate now or hereafter provided for Level IV of the Executive Schedule Pay Eates (5 U.S.C. 5315).
