ALASKA POWER ADMINISTRATION GENERAL INVESTIGATIONS

For engineering and economic investigations to promote the development and utilization of the water, power and related resources of Alaska, $500,000, to remain available until expended: Provided, That $42,000 of this appropriation shall be transferred to the Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife for studies, investigations, and reports thereon, as required by the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act of 1958 (72 Stat. 563-565). ^

For construction and acquisition of transmission lines, substations, and appurtenant facilities, as authorized by law, $91,000,000, to remain available until expended. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

For necessary expenses of operation and maintenance of the Bonneville transmission system and of marketing electric power and energy, $27,825,000. ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS

Appropriations of the Bonneville Power Administration shall be available to carry out all the duties imposed upon the Administrator pursuant to law. Appropriations made herein to the Bonneville Power Administration shall be available in one fund, except that the appropriation herein made for operation and maintenance shall be available only for the service of the current fiscal year. Other than as may be necessary to meet local emergencies, not to exceed 12 per centum of the appropriation for construction herein made for the Bonneville Power Administration shall be available for construction work by force account or on a hired-labor basis.
