Sho. 20. And be it further enacted, That every bill which shall or b H¤WI¤*;¤sh¤u may pass the council and house of representatives shall, before it ?ff§f;° as;::] becomes a law, be presented to the governor of the Territory; if he hliandapproved approve, he shall sign it, but if not, he shall return it, with his objeo- b? ‘h° €°'°"“°’· tions, to the house in which it originated; which shall cause the objections to he entered at large upon their journal, and proceed t0 reconsider it. If, afier such reconsideration, two thirds of that hou e shall agree to pass the bill, it shall be sent, together with the objections, to the other house, by which it shall also be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that house, it shall become a lawi but in all such cases the votes of both houses shall be determined by yeas and nays, and the names of the persons voting for and against the bill shall be entered on the journal of each house, respectively. If any bill shall not be returned by the governor within three days (Sundays excepted) aher it shall have been presented to him, the same shall be a law, in like manner as if he had signed it, unless the legislative assembly, by adjournment, prevent it; in which case it hall not become a law. CXXH.-An dat to establish the Collection District of Brazos de San- March 3, 1849 Sago, and for other Purposes. ·i—···—··· Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the t.C:l¥°§*i°¤ *1*:* United States of America in Congress assembled, That all that part s1;;ti;_g0ra‘;g;b$ of the collection district of Saluria, south and west of the north side 1ished,=m<iP¤int of Padre Island, in the Gulf of Mexico, be, and the same is hereby, Iijgiff ;‘\Qf° " made a. collection district, which shall be known as the district of P y` Brazos Santiago, and that Point Isabel be, and the same is hereby, made the port of entry of the said district. Sec. 2. Be it further muted, That a collector for the said Cvllcctorto he district of Brazos Santiago shall be appointed by the President, with :§§u°‘Q;;Séi°nh““ the advice and consent of the Senate, who shall reside at Point Isabel, P ° and hold his office for the terms and the time prescribed by law for the like office in other districts, and who shall be entitled to a salary not exceeding seventeen hundred and fifty dollars per annum, including in that sum the fees allowed by law; and the amount he shall collect in any one year for fees, exceeding the said sum of seventeen hundred and fifty dollars, shall be accounted for and paid into the treasury of the United States. Sec. 3.
