PUBLIC LAW 96-50—AUG. 13, 1979 Public Law 96-50 96th Congress Joint Resolution
Aug. 13, 1979 [H.J. Res. 19] National Lupus Week. Designation authorization.
To provide for the designation of a week as "National Lupus Week".
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is hereby authorized and requested to issue a proclamation designating the week of September 16 through 22, 1979, as "National Lupus Week" and inviting the Governors of the several States, the chief officials of local governments, and the people of the United States and the world to observe such same week with appropriate ceremonies, and activities. The President is further requested and authorized to issue such proclamation in the official languages of the United Nations and provide each Ambassador of these nations a ceremonial copy so that the lupus erythematosus patients in their countries may know of the United States* concern for the control of this deadly disease. Approved August 13, 1979.
