fjiQ amend the National Capital Transportation Act of 1969 to remove the limitation on the amount authorized for District of Columbia contributions for the cost of construction of the rapid transit system of the National Capital Region.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the National Capital United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 4 of the Transportation National Capital Transportation Act of 1969 (D.C. Code, sec. 1-1448), amendment relating to the District of Columbia contributions, is amended— (1) by striking out "Commissioner" in subsections (a) and (d) and inserting in lieu thereof "Mayor"; and (2) by striking out "aggregating not to exceed $269,700,000" in the first sentence of subsection (a); and (3) by striking out "not to exceed $219,700,000" in the second sentence of subsection (a) and inserting in lieu thereof "such sums as may be necessary". Approved August 14, 1979.
