An Act To authorize appropriations for the fiscal years 1982 and 1988 to carry out the purposes of the Export Administration Act of 1979, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Export United States of America in Congress assembled. That this Act may be cited as the Export Administration Amendments Act of 1981". Administration Amendments SEC. 2. (a) Section 18(b)(l) of the Export Administration Act of 1979 Act of 1981. 50 USC app. 2401 (50 U.S.C. App. 2417(b)(l)) is amended to read as follows: "(1) $9,659,000 for each of the fiscal years 1982 and 1983; and". note. SEC. 4. (a) Section ll(b)(l) of the EsEport Administration Act of 1979 (50 U.S.C. App. 2410(b)(l)) is amendedby striking out puiposes," and all that follows through the period at the end thereof and inserting in lieu thereof the following: "purposes— "(A) except in the case of an individual, shall be fined not more than five tunes the value of the exports involved or $1,000,000, whichever is greater; and "(B) in the case of an individual, shall be fined not more than $250,000, or imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.". (b) Section ll(b)(2) of that Act (50 U.S.C. App. 2410(b)(2)) is amended by striking out "Defense," and all that follows through the period at the end of the first sentence and inserting in heu thereof the following: "Defense— "(A) except in the case of an individual, shall be fined not more than five times the value of the exports involved or $1,000,000, whichever is greater; and "(B) in the case of an individual, shall be fined not more than $250,000, or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.". (c) Section IKcXD of that Act (50 U.S.C. App. 2410(c)(l)) is amended by inserting immediately before the period at the end thereof the following:, except that the civil penalty for each such violation involving national security controls imposed under section 5 of this Act or controls imposed on the export of defense articles and defense
