Voluntarism.
PUBLIC LAW 98-241—MAR. 22, 1984 The funds authorized under this subsection shall be in addition to funds authorized in any other law for research and development at the Fire Research Center of the National Bureau of Standards." SEC. 202. Section 15 of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974, as amended (15 U.S.C. 2214), is further amended by striking the words ", the Secretary of Defense," where such appears in subsections (b)(2), (c), (e)(1)(A), and (f). SEC. 203. It is the sense of the Congress that special recognition should be made of volunteer fire companies for their contribution to the public safety, accomplished in the highest traditions of the American voluntary spirit, and offering proof that locally based, nonfederally sponsored efforts provide the American people with outstanding service. Approved March 22, 1984.
