An Ordinance to provide for the regulation of the sending of unsolicited electronic messages and for connected purposes.
Enacted by the Legislative Council.
PART 1
Preliminary
1. Short title and commencement
(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Ordinance.
(2) Subject to subsection (3), this Ordinance shall come into operation on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.
(3) Part 2, sections 31, 32, 33, 38, 39 and 58 and sections 1(2) and 2(2) and Table 2 of Schedule 1 shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology by notice published in the Gazette.
2. Interpretation
(1) In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires—
“account” (帳戶) includes—
- (a) a free account;
- (b) a pre-paid account; and
