XXVI.
Lands of Alured de Merleberg.

I. Alured de Merleberg holds Adelingtone, It was aſſeſſed T.R.E. at 11 hides and a half, and 5 acres. Here are 7 ploughlands. Seven hides and a half are in demeſne, where are 4 ploughlands and 7 ſervants. Six villagers and 7 borderers occupy 1 ploughland. Here are 20 acres of meadow. The paſture is in length 3 quarters of a mile, and 3 furlongs broad. A ſoldier occupies 2 hides of this land, wherein is 1 ploughland. The whole was valued at 12 pounds; now at 15 pounds.

2. William holds 18 hides, Gilbert 1 hide, and Ulviet 1 hide, under Alured in Rode. They were aſſeſſed T.R.E. at 20 hides. Here
