To amend the South Africa Act, 1909.

Be it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate and the House of Assembly of the Union of South Africa, as follows:―


Amendment of section 56 of the South Africa Act, 1909, as substituted by section 1 of Act 51 of 1926, and amended by section 4 of Act 21 of 1932, section 2 of Act 29 of 1933, section 1 of Act 43 of 1935, section 3 of Act 19 of 1940, section 24 of Act 20 of 1940, section 1 of Act 21 of 1946, section 2 of Act 66 of 1951, and section 1 of Act 2 of 1957.

1. Section fifty-six of the South Africa Act, 1909, is hereby amended by the addition at the end of paragraph (d) of sub-section (2) of the words “and not exceeding seven days on which he so fails to attend during any other session”.


Short title and commencement.

2. This Act shall be called the South Africa Act Amendment Act, 1958, and shall be deemed to have come into operation on the seventeenth day of January, 1958.
