States of Christian Life and Vocation, According to the Doctors and Theologians of the Church/Part 2/Section 2/Conclusion

Conclusion. edit

In the second part of this book we have furnished rules for the choice of a state of life ; in the first, we attempted to draw out an exact idea of the various states of the Christian life. Our task is therefore at an end. Blessed be God who gave us time and strength to begin it and bring it to a close. O Lord ! may this humble work promote thy glory ! We ask this of thee through Mary, thy divine mother, and our mother also. May all who shall read these pages be enlightened by thy light and touched by thy grace, so that they may devote to thy service, every one in his way, the life which they hold from thee ! Holy doctors ! whose doctrine we have borrowed, fertilize by your protection the instruction which you have given us. May it be understood by all whom the prejudices of the world deceive and lead astray !
