Usage edit

Use this template in An Ainu–English–Japanese Dictionary to denote Japanese-language text. Usage (assuming you are in some section like /A, /E, etc.) is:

{{../j|text}}

It is tagged “ja” for the language. It does not modify the appearance of the text. In the original text, this appeared a mincho typeface; this edition being from 1905, the text uses katakana instead of hiragana, kyūjitai instead of shinjitai, and other older orthography conventions (such has the use of the ha row for what are now widely thought of as u verbs). Moreover, the katakana of this typeface may be somewhat odd-looking to those used to modern typefaces.
