"The Birds" (Ὄρνιθες Ornithes, Latin: Aves) is a comedy by Aristophanes, and was was first produced in 414 BCE. It has been acclaimed by modern critics as a perfectly realized fantasy remarkable for its mimicry of birds and for the gaiety of its songs. Warning: template has been deprecated.
