Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

PRAYER OF ST. GERTRUDE.

I ADORE Thee, O Sacred Heart of Jesus, inexhaustible fountain of mercy and grace, greatest miracle of divine omnipotence, goodness, and wisdom, throne of holy love, and the only sacrifice which can satisfy divine justice! Filled with reverence, I prostrate myself before Thee, and acknowl​edge Thy sublime majesty, which deserves the adoration of heavenly spirits, with whom I unite in praising and glorifying Thee. O Sacred Heart of my Redeemer, essentially united with the eternal Word, possessing all His eternal and unspeakable perfection, the love and joy of the Blessed Trinity; to Thee I address my supplications; to Thee I offer myself. To Thy honor and glory I consecrate all that I am and have, now and forever. Inspire me with words, O sweetest Heart, to praise Thee worthily; give me a heart which will love Thee as it should; mercifully accept me as a victim which may burn with Thy love, now and forever. Amen.
