English-language translations of
Ἐκκλησιάζουσαι (Assemblywomen)
by Aristophanes

"Ecclesiazusae" (Ἐκκλησιάζουσαι, Ekklesiazousai), or "Assemblywomen", is a comedy written by Aristophanes, and first produced in 391 BCE. In the play, the women of Athens take control of the city on the grounds that they can run it better than the men.
As with all ancient Greek dramas, the interpretation may vary, given the condition of available manuscripts, the current study of ancient Greek language, and changes in the English language. As a result, varying English translations exist.
