Balwant Singh, Sardar Saheb, Assistant Engineer, Punjab, P.W.D.; born, 1867: educated at the Gurudaspur High School and Lahore Government College; entered P.W.D. as an Overseer: Assistant Engineer, 1908; Waziristan Expedition from 1894-1898 and again in 1900-1901. Received a Sannad for his services; selected to serve on the Coronation Durbar Works of 1902-1903, and in 1905 for the preparations for the visit of T.R.H. Prince and Princess of Wales: in charge of the works of the Khalsa College from 1903-1910; deputed to the Delhi Durbar Works.; got the Kaiser-I-Hind Medal; Address: Delhi. Club: Lahore Masonic.
