Dublin; Joined 66th Berkshire Regiment, 1878; served in Afghanistan; present at engagement at Giriskh, with the Walli’s mutinous troops, battle of Maiwand (wounded) and subsequent defence of Kandahar; served in Burma, 1886-88, as Brigade Transport Officer to Maj Gen.
