Raikes, Lt.-Colonel Frederick Duncan, C.I.E. (1887), I.S.C, Commissioner, Upper Burma, (Retd); b. Futtegher, India, 1848; s. of late Charles Raikes, C.S.I.; educ: Privately; and Royal Military College, Sandhurst; arrived in India as Ensign, 66th Regiment, 1870; Assistant Superintendent of Police, Panch Mahals, 1873; served in Burma as Assistant Commissioner; served in the Burma campaign and secured medal and clasp, 1885-87; on special duty with Chin Field Force, 1888; Commissioner. 1892-6; became Lt.-Colonel, 1894; retired, 1901 Address: c/o India Office, London.
