Seal, Dr. Brajendranath, M.A,. Principal, Victoria College, Cooch Bihar; 2nd s. of late Babu Mahendra Lal Seal, a distinguished Vakil of Calcutta; lost his father while yet he was a boy; passed the entrance examination with credit and obtained a scholarship; studied Philosophy, Literature, History, Philology, Jurisprudence, and all the Philosophical and Theological writings of mediaeval days; passed M.A. and studied Sanskrit; knows English, Sanskrit, Bengalee, Greek, Latin, German, French, Persian and Italian languages; Elected as the first Speaker and the Opener of the proceedings of the Universal Races Congress where he read a paper which has been acknowledged as the most perfect and thoughtful ever read before any assembly.
