Sinha, Sir Satyendra Prassahno, Kt. (1915), Bar-at-Law, Calcutta; s. of Badu Siti Kantha Sinha; b. 1864; educ: Birbhoom Zillah School, and the Presidency College; proceeded to England and joined the Lincoln’s Inn; called to Bar, 1886; returned to India and commenced practice in the Calcutta High Court; appointing Standing Council to the Government of India, 1903; Advocate-General, Bengal, 1907; appeared in a sensational sedition case on behalf of the Crown; first Indian Member, Executive Council of the Governor-General of India, 1908; resigned, 1911; resumed practice in the Calcutta High Court; contributed Rs. 10,000 to the Bengal Volunteer Ambulance Corps; 1915: contributed Rs. 5,000 to the Gokhale Memorial Fund, 1915.
