Order of the Prime Minister
No. 194/2551
Regarding the appointment of the chief officer responsible for and
the delegation of powers in relation to the resolution of a state of emergency


Now that a state of emergency has been announced in the area of Bangkok;

The Prime Minister hereby gives the following order by virtue of the powers under section 7, paragraph 2 and paragraph 4, and section 10 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in State of Emergency, 2548 BE—a law containing certain provisions relating to the restriction of personal rights and freedoms, which section 29 together with section 32, section 33, section 34, section 36, section 38, section 41, section 43, section 45, and section 63 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, permits to be done through the power under a legal provision:

The Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Army/Deputy Director of the Internal Security Operation shall be the chief officer responsible for the resolution of the state of emergency. The Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police and the Commander of the 1st Army Area shall be the deputy chief officers responsible for the resolution of the state of emergency. They shall have the following powers of resolving the state of emergency as designated in the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in State of Emergency, 2548 BE:

1.to direct and order relevant public entities and public servants as well as competent authorities for the performance of actions designated by the law;

2.to carry out other actions as designated or delegated by the Prime Minister.

This shall come into force henceforth.
