About Schlep edit
Schlep is a pywikipedia-based maintenance bot operated by Larry Gilbert on an occasional basis.
The bot does not run autonomously. It is started and stopped manually, and it is given specific targets. During its runs, Larry will make an effort to be available on IRC #wikisource (nick: discHead) in case something goes seriously awry.
Past efforts edit
Originally, Schlep was used to run djvutext.py to fill in pages in Index:Dramatic Moments in American Diplomacy (1918).djvu with already-OCR'd text extracted from the corresponding DjVu file. The script was modified to avoid clobbering text already existing on the wiki (hopefully this feature will be incorporated into the main distribution someday).
