From November 24 to December 7, users of all levels of experience, from first-time editors to administrators, took part in the Tenth Anniversary Contest, proofreading and validating pages from ten selected texts.
The winner was Slowking4 (3256 points and 1681 edits). The first-week runner up was Moondyne (527 points and 234 edits during the first week). The second-week runner up was John Carter (193.5 points and 69 edits during the second week).
The prizes, sponsored by Wikimedia UK, were a Kobo e-reader for the winner and a £10 (GBP) Amazon voucher for each of the runners up.

The featured text for January 2014 is The Corsair, an 1814 tale in verse by George Gordon Byron. It is about a privateer named Conrad, who is rejected by society as a young man because of his actions, and who later fights against mankind, although not against women. The tale is divided into three cantos. January 2014 is the bicentennial of the publication of this work. (Main page template)

Collaborations for January 2014 edit
The Proofread of the Month is focusing on shorter works on topics that we have very little information on. The first three works are Weather Facts and Predictions (1877), Navvies and Their Needs (1878), and Why the Shoe Pinches (1861).
The Maintenance of the Month task for January 2014 is Author page connection with Wikidata items. After Wikidata starts supporting Wikisource sitelinks, which is scheduled for January 14, it will be possible to handle interlanguage and sister-project links in Wikidata.
