Add new items to top of page rather than bottom edit

Doesn't it make more sense to add newer discussions to the top of the page? Outlier59 (talk) 00:21, 23 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

They're pretty much the same, with adding newer discussions at the bottom having the advantage that reading top to bottom has (roughly) the same order between discussions and in discussions, and that adding newer discussions at the bottom is relatively consistent across Wikimedia projects.--Prosfilaes (talk) 02:57, 23 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
Mediawiki's ADD SECTION functionality adds to the bottom. Such when you use the {{delete}} tag when nominating on a work the template offers the ability to add the discussion and by the system it appends. Not sure that we want one page or the corpus to have a different process., — billinghurst sDrewth 07:57, 23 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Archive old deletions? edit

When do the green "archive" sections get removed? Outlier59 (talk) 01:17, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Whenever someone gets to them. At the moment we have been sorting to kept, deleted and no action. I think that is pretty pointless, and we should just archive them. Happy to take thoughts on that. If we don't sort them, then we can look to have a bot, or use some of the semi-automated processes. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:22, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Huh, I thought it was done by a bot. I've archived the current closed discussions but I'd support non-sorted bot archiving. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 14:18, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thank-you to Beleg Tâl for doing that manual archive! I don't know what the pros and cons are for sorting the archives into kept, deleted and no action. It would be helpful to understand that. Outlier59 (talk) 00:43, 6 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Clean up this talk page? edit

Can pre-2015 discussions be removed from this talk page? Outlier59 (talk) 00:29, 10 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have set the page to archive by bot (User:Wikisource-bot), where conversation is > 60d, and a straight incremental archive box, rather than per year (config file stored in top section). unsigned comment by Billinghurst (talk) .
