Chap. XVII.Of drawing from Casts or Nature.

In drawing from relievo, the draftsman must place himself in such a manner, as that the eye of the figure to be drawn be level with his own[1].


  1. This is not an absolute rule, but it is a very good one for drawing of portraits.
