Knaster, m., ‘best tobacco,’ borrowed at the beginning of the 18th cent. from Du. knaster, kanaster, m., ‘canister tobacco,’ which comes from Span. canastro, ‘basket’ (comp. Lat. and Gr. canistrum, κάναστρον).
