Nothing evident for Alexander James Mitchell Morison. List as Parked. -- billinghurst (talk) 01:47, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

there seems to be one (born 1859) who attended Edinbugh Academy & was connected to the Scottish Record Society. Dsp13 (talk) 01:10, 26 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
The one biography is of a Free Church minister. Charles Matthews (talk) 13:07, 16 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
add comp;ication, there is a Alexander James Morison born 1861, London; at Oxford 1877 with someone claiming died 1919, London. Still looking for more detail. Dastardly short of census detail, I think that was an "adoptio"-lite and I think that there has been trips to India — billinghurst sDrewth 07:16, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
I think that I have it. The vol. just says A. J. M. Morison, and there is a (Alistair|Alexander) James Mitchell born 1859 in Edinburgh. Father (Alexander) was a solicitor, and AJMM went on to be a Scottish advocate. Moved to London c.1900, and died 1919, age 60. Death notice says Alistair, death registration says Alexander, family history research says headstone says Alistair. Presumably Alistair is the name called by family to differentiate father and son. Calling it resolved … Scottish advocate, 1859-1919. There is a data dump on the Author talk page. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:23, 30 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Copied published snippet, from unidentified university publication edit

Morison, Alexander James Mitchell, M.A., 13 July 1883
only son of Alexander Morison, S.S.C., born 26 April 1859, died 12 Aug. 1919, mar. 14 Feb. 1907 Louisa Maud, daughter of George Berry. auctioneer, London

guessing SSC is Scottish Supreme Court, or something similar
That appears in The Faculty of Advocates in Scotland, 1532-1943: With Genealogical Notes (1944), page 156. S.S.C. is for members of the Society of Solicitors in the Supreme Courts of Scotland. Charles Matthews (talk) 11:02, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Father edit

The father Alexander Morison, who apparently died 1902, set up a large firm of solicitors, and could be researched with a bit more effort. Charles Matthews (talk) 11:25, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Do we need that for here? — billinghurst sDrewth 11:48, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
