The death occurred yesterday afternoon in a Limerick ,hospital of Rt Rev. Cornelius Mulcahy, P.P.. V.F.. Kilmallock, Dean of Limerick. Born on July 6, 1870—exactly 91 years ago—at Rathkeale_, Co. Limerick, Dean _Mulcahy was educated at Rathkeale N.S., St. _Munchin's College, Limerick, and St. Patrick's College, Maynooth. He was ordained in 1895 and taught for a year at St. Munchin's before beine appointed Professor of English Literature at Maynooth. He held this post until his appointment as Parish Priest of Kilmallock in 1932. He was appointed s Canon of the Cathedral Chapter and Dean of Limerick in 1938.

GREAT CHURCHMAN

An outstanding classical scholar Dean Mulcahy was author of an important work, "The Hymns of the Breviary," and he also translated a number of Papal encyclicals into English- He contributed a number of articles to the "Irish Ecclesiastical Record." which is published in Maynooth.

A great churchman, he took a keen interest in the affairs of Kilmallock Parish, and carried out a number of improvements in the local buildings.

He was uncle of the well-known Irish international rugby forward, Dr. Bill Mulcahy. John Mulcahy, Rathkeale, Miss Mary Mulcahy, _Rnihkeale.

The remains will be removed at 7 p.m. to-day from St John's HosDital. Limerick, to SS Peter and Paul's Church. Kilmallock. The funeral will take place immediately after Solemn Requiem Mass at noon to-morrow.
