  • Only one source found so far with any sort of biographical information. This PDF: Niagara Falls Gazette (Feb 17, 1940, p. 6) includes a brief bio in the Poetry Promenade section (following a poem that begins "Lament for Our..." Not all of it is legible:
    "Elizabeth Virginia Raplee, wh(illegible text) secretary to a New York City o(illegible text)ecutive, was born at Clayton (illegible text)Y., and spent her childhood (illegible text) Watertown. She has publis(illegible text) nearly 50 poems in magazines (illegible text) New York newspapers during (illegible text) past six years.
    "The background of my poe(illegible text) she reveals, "might be said to (illegible text) love of beauty, disgust with (illegible text) present-day, so-called civilizat(illegible text) dislike of the modern (illegible text) speed without direction and a (illegible text)ing that we have missed the simp(illegible text) and healthiest way to happine(illegible text) our striving for mechanical (illegible text) technical perfection."

  • "Elizabeth Virginia Raplee, wh[o was] secretary to a New York City o[il ex]ecutive, was born at Clayton [N.]Y., and spent her childhood [in] Watertown. She has publis[hed] nearly 50 poems in magazines [and] New York newspapers during [the] past six years.
    "The background of my poe[ms] she reveals, "might be said to [be] love of beauty, disgust with [the] present-day, so-called civilizat[ion] dislike of the modern [craze for] speed without direction and a [feel]ing that we have missed the simp[est] and healthiest way to happine[ss in] our striving for mechanical [and] technical perfection."
