@Billinghurst: any chance you could find more info on this person, preferably death date? The supposed death date in Braithwaite's Cambridge Alumni Database (ACAD) entry are based on a presumptive and tentative estimate that a person would matriculate to Cambridge at the age of 18 and would live to 98. (thus tentative). The ACAD entry states Braithwaite was a member of the Inner Temple, whose records you previously mentioned at Author talk:Charles Augustus Harold Black are "not available on the web". ミラP@Miraclepine 20:59, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Miraclepine: Don't think that we are going to get a death date for this person. I can trace to 1871 in England, then can pick in Australia (NSW) in 1883, then next in 1888, then nothing. Nothing evident in deaths in Australia or NZ. Seems to have got into some sort of trouble in rural NSW in 1888, though type of trouble unknown. That is the last record found. I cannot find them in electoral rolls which are pretty good from turn of century, which is not a good indicator. From that point if they left Australia they could have gone anywhere Americas, Asia, South Africa, and under any name. I don't see him back in the UK. - checking variations for family name nothing evident.
Cannot find death in any Australian state that resembles this person, checked Qld, NSW, Vic,SA, WA, Tas. Noting that would seem to be in Australia on their own, so many possibilities that any death registrations is incomplete or inaccurate.
