Line breaks in sidenotes edit

I've noticed that the sidenotes people have done so far generally have line breaks manually added (in the form of <br /> tags). I just wanted to check that this is the right thing to do, as I only noticed after I already did a few pages without these line breaks. My impression is that the breaks don't have any inherent meaning in the text, they're just where the line happened to wrap around. Can someone explain the justification for preserving them like this instead of leaving it up to the reader's display device? --Superiority (talk) 04:03, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
