Signature questions

Two questions: Why is the signature included on page 1? It seems that it was written in the book (ie. a signed copy), not actually part of it, and therefore wouldn't be included in the transcription. Second, who is Milton L. Liddell (the name in the signature)? I see that the uploader wrote that it's Lew Levenson's signature, but I don't know where this information came from. @Hazmat2: I wrote this because of misunderstanding of handwriting. L. initial brought me to conclusion that it was an author's autograph. Also if we restore numeration based on first numbered page, this page comes with number 1. So I thought the signature was the part of the book.
