@ShakespeareFan00: No, this is just a really really bad scan. See the scan at IA. What you're seeing there are really bad JPEG compression artefacts, the kind you get when you ask the encoder to get you the smallest file size possible. It is also not all that high resolution to begin with, but mainly the poor quality is due to much too aggressive compression settings. Those can't be fixed, so here we'll need to find an alternate scan somewhere. --Xover (talk) 14:29, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

@Hrishikes: I see you've gotten the alternate scan uploaded. Thanks! I didn't have access to that work on Hathi (it's behind the copyright wall) so I was digging deep trying to find it elsewhere (the Mormons have a copy stashed away) but having little luck. --Xover (talk) 07:33, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
