Construction edit

I am constructing an index for this volume page image by page image. This is facilitated by the fact that the pages images for the 1905 edition appear to be mostly identical to the page images for the 1903 edition. But in some cases the articles in the 1903 edition have more information (referred to as the "transition pages" in the TOC note for this index). I propose to use the 1903 article text in this transcription of the first edition since they apparently have everything the corresponding articles in the 1905 edition have, and a little more in the case of the transition pages. I am starting the construction of this index with the pages where there is not an exact correspondence between the images of the 1903 and 1905 pages. This amounts to only eight pages: 1, 325*, 326*, 327*, 328*, 329a*, 329b*, and 810. Library Guy (talk) 20:59, 9 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have found at least one case (not for v. 8) where there was a word changed where the pages in the 1903 and 1905 editions were otherwise identical, so the correspondence is not air tight. Bob Burkhardt (talk) 21:44, 21 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
