humble bee or bumble bee edit

Apparently, the Brits of an era had "humble bees".

Templates edit

{{WWB section species
 |common=
 |species=
 |commonscat=
 |plate=
}}
{{WWB section species||||plate=}}

This template is awkward. It did not start life being difficult; it was written before the occasional "Plate No." was noticed in some of the section headings.

So, the logic got messed up and the use became less easy.

The common name and the species are required. Sometimes the species is actually the genus or the family, but the template works fine with those -- it is just the ui that is wrong.

The template works without the commons category. If you don't look it up or want to look it up or know how to look it up and especially if it annoys you -- just put "Commons cat" as the species and it can be fixed during transclusion.

This is the pesky part. The plate. Even if it doesn't have a plate, the template needs plate= in it. I am sorry. I am pondering ways to fix it. --RaboKarbakian (talk) 16:14, 6 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Examples of use
  • {{WWB section species|Horsetail|Equisetum arvense||plate=}}
  • {{WWB section species|The Lesser Celandine|Ranunculus ficaria|Ficaria verna|plate=}}

Would "fine"sized text be better than "smaller" edit

Ï have been having a bit of play of some of some of the pages, and to me the use of {{smaller block}} has the text too small, and I would prefer that we consider use of {{fine block}}. If desire, I am happy to run a bot through to tidy up. {{ping}} if you want it done, or put a request to Wikisource:Bot requests. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:26, 19 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
