Beresford, William, B.A., St. John's Coll., Camb., 1842, judge of county courts (circuit No. 31) since I Jan., 1878, educated at Rugby and King's Coll., London, sometime deputy judge of Whitechapel county court, a student of the Middle Temple 17 Nov., 1838, practised as a special pleader 1843-58, called to the bar 17 Nov., 1858 (3rd son of Rev. Gilbert Beresford, of Anglestone, co. Leicester); born 19 Feb., 1817.
