Brickdale, Matthew Inglett Fortescue, M.A., Christ Church, Oxon, 1841, one of the conveyancing counsel of the chancery division since 1875, of the Court of Chancery 1861-75, sometime secretary to Statute Law Commission, author of Leases and Sales of Settled Estates, a student of the Middle Temple 27 Oct., 1841, called to the bar 22 Nov., 1844, admitted a barrister of Lincoln's Inn ad eundem 13 Jan., 1845 (eldest son of John Fortescue Brickdale, Esq., of Newland, co. Gloucester); born 15 April, 1817; married 25 March, 1856, Sarah Anna, dau. of Edward John Lloyd, Esq. Q.C., and has issue.
