Coll., Camb., 1843, deputy chairman East Riding Yorks quarter sessions J.P., D.L., a student of the Inner Temple 26 April, 1843, went to the Middle Temple 15 and called to the bar there 29 Jan., 1847 (eldest son of David Burton, Esq., of Cherry Burton, Yorkshire); born 15 Sept., 1820; married 1st, 28 Oct., 1845, Mary, 2nd dau. of Frederick Cowper, Esq., of London; he married 2ndly, 7 March, 1856, Fanny, dau. of Frederick Cowper, Esq., of Carleton Hall, Cumberland, and has issue.
