Martin, George Edward, B.A. Merton Coll., Oxon, from Eton, major Worcestershire yeomanry cavalry since 1883, capt. 1867–83, lord of the manor of Upton-on-Severn, J.P., D.L. co. Worcester, high sheriff 1882, a student of Lincoln's Inn 15 Jan., 1852 (then aged 22), called to the bar 30 April, 1857 (eldest son of Rev. George Martin, canon residentiary of Exeter); born 11 Nov., 1829; married 15 Oct., 1862, Maria Henrietta, eldest dau. of late Benjamin Cherry, Esq., D.L., of Brickendon Grange, Herts, and has issue.
