Powys-Lybbe, Philip Lybbe, M.A., Balliol Coll., Oxon, 1835, M.P. Newport, Isle of Wight, 1859-65, went the Oxford circuit, J.P. Oxon, assumed the additional surname of Lybbe by royal licence 18 Feb., 1863, a student of the Inner Temple 14 Jan., 1839 (then aged 20), called to the bar 5 May, 1843 (eldest son of Henry Philip Powys, Esq., of Hardwick Hall, Oxon); born 12 June, 1818; married 11 June, 1844, Anne Phillis, dau. of Thomas Greenwood, Esq., of Turner's Court, Berks, and has issue (see Foster's Peerage, B. Lilford).
