Rawlinson, Sir Christopher, chief justice Madras 1849-59, recorder of Portsmouth 1840-7, of Prince of Wales Island; Singapore, and Malacca 1847-9, went the Western circuit, M.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1831, from Charterhouse School, knighted 24 Feb., 1847, a student of the Middle Temple 28 March, 1828, called to the bar 25 Nov., 1831 (son of John Rawlinson, of the Middle Temple); born , 1806; married , 1847, Georgina Maria, youngest dau. of late Alexander Radclyffe Sidebottom, Esq., and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
